Using
FTP over Windows Explorer is a very simple thing.
Merly type in the URL in the Address Bar, substituting FTP:// in place of the normal HTTP://. For example;
FTP://ftp.Sierra.com will take you to Sierra's game documentation FTP server. You will see folders similar to being
in an explorer window. You can click in to folders, view contents, and select files to download. Note that you
cannot upload files using Windows Explorer. In order to upload files, you need to use an FTP client and have write
access rights to the FTP server.
An FTP client can be commercial software you install on the computer you want to transfer files to and from, or it
can be a web based FTP client, like free FTP client offered on CheapFTP.com.
CheapFTP.com allows you to transfer files to and from your online account
using any computer that in connected to the internet.
